I'm sad to announce that I'll be closing my shop in two weeks, on December 30. To be honest I've been considering it for a long time, and it was a tough decision. I like making strings and I love hearing from people who enjoy the things I make, but I also know this isn't ever going to be a full-time career for me and it takes a lot of time and energy away from other things I'd rather focus on. Cutting it off at the end of the year just makes sense for me because I can go ahead and cancel my business license, not have to deal with it on next year's taxes, etc.
That said, I'm still open for orders for the next two weeks, and as long as your order comes in before New Years Eve I can still count it as a sale in 2022, even if I ship it after New Years. So feel free to stock up, there are no limits on my site as to how many packs you can buy or anything like that. I'm honestly expecting to probably get some big orders from folks who enjoy my strings and want to stock up, so if you place an order now please note that it might be delayed. Depending on how many orders come in, it might be February before you get your package. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up before I close my shop, so you have a chance to grab some string while you can.
I honestly don't know if I'm ever going to sell strings again. If I feel like it in a few months, I might reopen my Etsy shop and just post strings that are pre-made in limited supply, rather than making strings as orders come in. Or I might not. I don't know. If I decide to make some more and sell them later, it will be very limited amounts just whenever I feel like making them, and it'll probably mostly be Booster Packs so I can use up some of the insane amount of thread I keep in stock lol. In TN where I live, if you sell over $10,000 in a year you have to get a business license and deal with a bunch of extra paperwork for taxes and legal stuff, so I definitely don't want to hit that threshold, but also the IRS recently said if you make more than $600 you have to report it on taxes now, so I'll probably try to stay below that. So like I said, very limited supply (if any) in the future.
Thank you all for your incredible support over the past couple of years, I've gotten so much love and feedback from this community and I really appreciate all of it. Some of my favorite times have been when I got an email saying my strings helped a guy get through exams because yoyoing helped him focus, or when people left reviews saying my strings are the best ever, I notice those things and it absolutely makes my day every time. I kind of hate to close shop, because I love the brand I've built and the community, but I have to do what's best for me and my family.
